unpublished:

notes from the field

UnPublished  is a publishing platform for essays based on field notes and personal reflections of researchers and practitioners doing climate justice, human rights, water justice, or related work. These essays, which are most often sourced from unpublished field notes, reveal the flawed, messy process of unlearning and re-learning that takes place in the field as researchers struggle to reconcile institutional mandates with the realities faced by communities on the front lines of climate impact. In these writings, blind spots and inner struggles are laid bare with the goal of encouraging other practitioners to peel back the layers of their privilege with courage and humility, confront the potential for violence in research, and confront themselves. It is our hope that we can grow together as imperfect - but relentless- learners, and charge towards intersectional climate justice together.
